Terms of Service
These are the terms for using Dunbar. We have kept them as short and as plain as a real contract allows. The short version: you own your data, we run the service with care, and each of us can walk away.
The plain-English version
• Your contact and relationship data stays yours. We never sell it or use it to reach the people in it.
• Dollar amounts from your records are never sent to AI providers. Email sync stores metadata only, never message bodies.
• Dunbar drafts and suggests; you decide. Review everything before it goes out, because AI can be wrong.
• A cohort seat is paid once, by invoice, when you join, and runs for the length of the cohort (6 weeks for Cohort 1). There is no subscription: nothing renews and nothing is charged automatically. After the cohort you decide whether to continue; if you stop, you can export everything, and your workspace is deleted on request.
• If your organization signed a separate agreement with us (an NDA or data-protection agreement), that agreement wins wherever the two differ.
1. Who we are
Dunbar is built and operated by Willpowered Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Willpowered”, “we”, “us”). “Dunbar” means our relationship-cultivation software, including the web application, integrations, email notifications, and everything else we provide with your seat or your account.
2. Agreeing to these terms
By accepting a seat in a Dunbar cohort, creating an account, or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you are using Dunbar for an organization, you are agreeing on that organization’s behalf and confirming you have the authority to do so. “You” in these terms means that organization.
3. If we signed something with you, that wins
Some customers have a separately negotiated agreement with Willpowered, for example a non-disclosure or data-protection agreement. If anything in these terms conflicts with a signed agreement between us, the signed agreement controls for that customer. Nothing on this page reduces any commitment we have made to you in writing.
4. What Dunbar is (and isn't)
Dunbar helps you tend the relationships your work depends on: it holds the people you import and the calendar you connect, researches the people in your network from public sources, suggests daily actions, and drafts messages for your review. Dunbar is a human-in-the-loop tool: it prepares, you approve. Nothing is sent to anyone unless you send it.
Dunbar uses AI, and AI makes mistakes. Research summaries can be wrong or out of date, and drafts can miss your voice or your facts. Review AI output before you act on it or send it. Dunbar does not provide legal, financial, or professional advice.
5. Your account
Keep your sign-in credentials safe and your account email current, because it is where we send anything important. You are responsible for activity under your login. Tell us right away at support@dunbarcoach.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
6. Payment, the term, and what comes after
A seat in Cohort 1 costs $1,000 for the 6 weeks, paid once, by invoice, when you join, as the cohort page says. It covers the 6 live sessions with Joshua Berry and their recordings, the group, and the app. We send the invoice through Bill.com, your access opens once it is paid, and the cohort begins the week of November 2, 2026. Bill.com handles the payment: nothing in Dunbar takes payments or stores your bank or card details. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.
There is no subscription. Nothing renews and nothing is charged automatically, and the price you are invoiced is the price you pay. This is the first cohort, so it costs less than later ones will. If you sign an agreement with us for your seat, it sets the price and the term, and where it and this page differ, the agreement wins (see section 3).
A cohort of 6 only works if 6 people show up, so we ask you to hold the dates. If your practice changes, talk to us.
Your access runs for the length of the cohort. Before the 6 weeks end, we will settle with this first group what continuing with the app looks like and what it costs. You decide: nothing continues unless you ask for it, on a price and a period we agree in writing first. If you stop, you can export everything, and your workspace is deleted on request (see section 12 and the privacy page).
7. Your data is yours
Everything you bring to Dunbar (contact information, relationship and engagement history, uploads, notes) belongs to you. You give us permission to process it only to provide the service to you. We commit to every customer that we will:
- never sell, rent, or trade your data, and never use it to solicit the people in your records for anything;
- never send dollar amounts from your records (fees or anything else) to AI providers;
- store only metadata from connected email accounts (who, when, subject), never message bodies;
- read the contents of your messages only if you switch on voice calibration, and then only your own sent mail, only from a mailbox you connected yourself. Dunbar keeps a description of how you write plus a few short excerpts of your own words, and keeps nothing else from those messages;
- use vendors only as disclosed in our Privacy & Data Handling page, which lists every subprocessor that touches your data; and
- delete your data when your access ends, on your request or per the retention window in the privacy page.
If we ever become aware of a security breach affecting your data, we will notify you promptly. It is your responsibility to only upload data you have the right to use.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Dunbar for anything unlawful, or send messages through it that violate anti-spam or privacy laws that apply to you;
- resell, share, or provide access to Dunbar outside your organization;
- attempt to access another customer’s workspace or data, probe or overload the service, or work around usage limits; or
- copy, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service.
9. Ownership
We own Dunbar: the software, design, and everything that makes it work. Your seat gives you the right to use it while your access is active; it doesn’t transfer any ownership. You own your data and the messages you send. If you give us feedback or suggestions, we can use them to improve Dunbar without owing you anything.
10. Disclaimers
Dunbar is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it accurate, secure, and available, but we can’t promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted, and we make no warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. AI-generated content in particular may contain errors. See section 4.
11. Limits of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, neither of us is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost revenue, lost fees, or lost data, arising out of the use of Dunbar. Willpowered’s total liability under these terms is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim arose.
This cap does not limit either party’s liability for breach of confidentiality obligations in a signed agreement (see section 3), or anything that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Ending the relationship
You can stop using Dunbar at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms. Where practical, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. When your access ends, we will give you a reasonable window to export your data, then delete it as described in the privacy page.
13. Changes to these terms
If we make material changes to these terms, we will email the account owner at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Dunbar after that means you accept the updated terms. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York. If your organization has a signed agreement with us that names a different governing law, that agreement’s choice controls for that agreement (see section 3).
